Neurodiverse and English as an Additional Language (EAL) Driving Theory Tuition

Driving Theory Test Support for Dyslexia, ADHD, and SEND Learners

Learners with dyslexia, ADHD or other SEND needs may find the theory test difficult because:

• Questions can contain complex wording
• Reading and processing information can take longer
• Concentration can be challenging during long tests
• Hazard perception clips require quick recognition of developing hazards
• Anxiety can affect confidence during the test

With the right guidance, these challenges can be managed and many learners go on to pass successfully.

Our one-to-one sessions are designed to make learning clear and manageable.

We help learners by:

✔ breaking down theory questions into simple explanations
✔ teaching how to recognise key words in questions
✔ explaining developing hazards in hazard perception clips
✔ building confidence through structured practice
✔ working at the learner’s own pace

Lessons are delivered online via Microsoft Teams, so learners anywhere in the UK can access personalised support.

Why Some Learners Find the Driving Theory Test Challenging

🚗 Many learners need a little extra guidance when preparing for the theory test.

This is often not because the test is too difficult, but because of a few common preparation challenges.

✅ Learning answers rather than understanding the question
Some learners memorise answers instead of understanding the rules behind them, which can make questions confusing when the wording changes.

✅ Rushing through the questions
You have 57 minutes to answer 50 questions, so there is usually plenty of time to read carefully and check your answers.

✅ Over-clicking during hazard perception
Clicking repeatedly or in a pattern can result in scoring zero for a clip, even if you spotted the hazard.

✅ Test anxiety
Feeling nervous can make learners rush or doubt their answers, even when they understand the topic.

✅ Booking the test before feeling fully prepared
Taking the test too early can add unnecessary pressure and affect confidence.

💡 With the right guidance and preparation, many learners find the theory test much clearer and easier to approach.
